2017 NEW MEXICO MUSIC AWARDS WINNERS
The 2017 New Mexico Music Awards were held on on Sunday, May 21st 2017 at Sandia Resort & Casino in Albuquerque. We had performances from Andy & Kew Mason, D’Santi Nava, The Kipsies, The Ron Crowder Band, Ms Tracy Whitney and the Will Banister Band. This was our 30th Anniversary of recognizing music in New Mexico.

The 2017 NMMAs fielded 677 entries in 41 categories.
Eric Larson Lifetime Achievement Recipient-Hillary Smith
We’ve been honoring people who have dedicated their lives to music, making their living in New Mexico or supporting our music community for over fifteen years. Our 2017 recipient is an artist who grew up in Hobbs, NM and as soon as she could, began singing professionally. Hillary Smith is a 2009 and 2010 NMMA winner, is a member of no less than three groups and has always been there to lend her talents to any number of charitable causes. She has survived and succeeded in the New Mexico’s music community with courage, grace and style….and she did it all in heels.
The Eric Larson Endowment at UNM provides unrestricted funds for juniors or seniors who have chosen music or the recording arts as their major and have maintained a 3.0 GPA. Eric Larson was co-founder of the New Mexico Music awards and passed away in 2005. The New Mexico Music Awards contributes annually to the scholarship fund. To donate, go to ericlarsonendowment.com
