New Mexico Music Awards

The Eric Larson Endowment at the University of New Mexico presented a $2000.00 grant to Josh Castro, a music major at at the University of New Mexico. Josh is from Albuquerque and he chose UNM to remain close to his family and to be able to continue to work with is professor who has instructed him since middle school. Josh is a bassoonist who is pursuing an undergraduate degree in performance. He performs regularly with the UNM symphony, the wind symphony and the undergraduate quintet. His goal is to continue on to a master's degree in conducting and directing. We want to thank all of our contributors to the Eric Larson Endowment for their support.

We are again asking our music community to donate to the Eric Larson Endowment at UNM. Our 39 for 39 Campaign asks that you give $39.00 for the 39 years that the New Mexico Music Awards will be celebrating in 2026. Our goal is to bring our endowment to over $100,000.00, enough to offer a much larger scholarship and eventually be able to offer a 2 year scholarship.
