The New Mexico Music Awards (NMMA) have been created to recognize excellence in music production in New Mexico.
The Awards are open to original recordings produced, recorded and mixed primarily within the state of New Mexico between January 1st and December 31st, 2013. This means that all productions, amateur or professional, must have been primarily recorded and produced at a home or professional studio within the state of New Mexico.
The NMMA must be able to verify the recording location via physical address of the recording and/or production studio. Contact information for the recording/production studio, home or commercial, must be provided on the entry form.
Recording, production and/or copyright dates will be used to determine the eligibility of each entry. Entrants must be able to verify copyright ownership of original material or recordings entered.
Recordings or materials submitted to the NMMA in previous years are not eligible. Re-recordings of previous entries may not be entered into any category including the “Best Cover Song” category.
A limit of one entry per entry form is imposed. Each entry form must contain contact information for the entrant and studio where the production was recorded.
“Entrant” is defined as the person submitting the entries. Entries without contact information will be disqualified. Multiple entries may be mailed in a single package.
Please print clearly on the entry forms. Illegible or incomplete entry forms may cause the entry to be disqualified. Mis-categorized entries may be disqualified.
Entry forms must accompany the entry CD and the lower portion of the entry form must be attached to the CD entry. Please do not tape these to the entry as the may become damaged during removal. Rubber bands used to attach these labels are preferred. Mislabeled CD's or CD’s with playback audio problems may be disqualified.
A Compact Disc (CD) may contain material for more than one entry in single length categories. An entry form for each entry on the disc must accompany the disc. The name of the entrant must be printed clearly on the face of the CD. Titles for each entry must be clearly printed on the CD or case and an index of the CD should also be provided. Multiple entries will be allowed only on properly indexed compact discs.
Video should be submitted on a DVD and in a recognized PC format such .mp4 or .mov.
Full-length categories require separate CDs for the purposes of judging. Full-length entries must be commercially available at the time of entry. Commercially available is defined as packaged for retail sales including a UPC code and available for sale to the general public either through retail outlets or via the Internet.
An entry fee of $23.00 per entry is required. Any song or CD entered in multiple categories requires an entry fee for each category entered. A check or money order for the total amount of the entry payable to New Mexico Music Awards (NMMA) must accompany each entry. CASH WILL NOT BE ACCEPTED. Returned checks will render that entry ineligible and a returned check fee of $15.00 will be charged. Multiple entries must be submitted together with one check or money order for the total amount of all entry fees. Entry fees are not refundable.
Entries must be postmarked by January 31st, 2014. You may also drop off your entry in person by close of business, February 7th, 2014 at one of our retail locations.
