Albuquerque, NM-The New Mexico Music Awards program is now taking entries for its 2024 NMMA program from January 1st, 2024 through February 8th, 2024. The awards will go through preliminary judging through March of 2024 with finalists announced in April and the awards being presented at a ceremony in Albuquerque in May of 2024.

This year the entry fee has been reduced to $25.00 per entry plus applicable sales tax.

Beginning in 1987, a group of recording industry professionals including songwriters, recording engineers, working musicians and producers set out to achieve cooperation rather than competition among recording studios and other industry professionals in order to create a climate of professionalism and artistic excellence within the New Mexico music community. In 1988, the first awards competition and show took place. Since then, the program has been held annually, to recognize excellence in original music productions recorded and mixed in New Mexico.

The program is open to amateurs and professionals who have produced music in New Mexico from January 1st, 2023-December 31st, 2023 in over 40 categories including album and single length categories that include country, jazz, ambient music, hip-hop, rap and singer songwriter. There are categories for Best Album in several categories including Best of the Year and the coveted Norman Petty Producers Award.
