Copyright Workshop January 31st, 2015

Join the New Mexico Music Awards for a basic copyright workshop on Saturday, January 31st at  10:00 AM . We'll be meeting at the Albuquerque Film & Music Experience offices, 4105 Silver SE in Albuquerque. We'll discuss the importance of copyrighting you intellectual properties, how to get it done and how it can lead to a bigger payday for you. Register online via Facebook. A Call for Entries

The New Mexico Music Awards is accepting entries for the 2015 awards program for music produced in New Mexico during the 2014 calendar year. The entry period will be open from January 1st, 2015 until February 7th, 2015. The entries are open to all songwriters, artists, producers, engineers and other music industry professionals.

There are three ways to enter:

Download and print out the PDF or docx form and mail the form and your audio CD with your entry (check or money order only) to NMMA, PO Box 6552, Albuquerque, NM, 87197. Mail in entries must be postmarked by January 31st, 2015.

Download and print out the PDF or docx form and drop off the form and your audio CD with your entry (check or money order only) to one of our drop off locations in Albuquerque or Santa Fe.

Fill out the online e-form and e-mail your audio file to Upon completing the form, you will be re-directed to our payment site where you can pay via credit card or PayPal account. Please note: Your audio files must be correctly tagged with the artist name, writers, category title and entry contact information (name, e-mail, phone number).


Entry fees are $23.00 per entry. Multiple entries may be submitted on a single CD. Full length category entries require an additional CD for judging. The annual awards show and banquet will take place on Saturday, May 30th at the Sandia Resort and Casino in Albuquerque. The music awards program is open to both amateur and professional musicians from throughout the state of New Mexico.

We urge you to read the FAQcategory descriptions and entry rules before submitting your entries. The awards program features 42 music categories in multiple genres. We will also honor someone from the New Mexico Music community with the Eric Larson Lifetime Achievement Award and remember those New Mexico music professionals who have passed away this past year.

Briana Reed 2014-2015 Eric Larson Endowment Scholarship recipient.

The Eric Larson Endowment at the University of New Mexico provides scholarship money to junior and senior students currently enrolled at UNM and who have declared music or a related field as their major. Our 2014-2015 recipient is Briana Reed. She is a junior pursuing a BA in Liberal Arts with a focus on audio engineering. She has worked with live audio here in Albuquerque and continues to study theater, music and digital audio.

2015 New Mexico Music Awards date announced.

The 2015 New Mexico Music Awards banquet and show will take place on Saturday evening, May 30th at the Sandia Resort and Casino in Albuquerque, New Mexico. Join us for great music and  film performances as we recognize those artists, songwriters, producers and engineers who have excelled in the production of music in New Mexico in 2014. We will present a program for veterans entitled Songwriting as a Therapeutic Process in Albuquerque spring  of 2015. The program is designed to assist those veterans  who have served our country honorably communicate their experiences in the theater of war. We will be expanding our program to the rest of New Mexico and the southwest and western US.
