2015 New Mexico Music Awards winners announced.

A complete list of winners can be found under our winners tab above

The 2015 New Mexico Music Awards is in the books and there were tears, laughter and a few surprises. Best CD of the year went to Zenobia for her "Resurrection" CD, The Norman Petty Producer"s Award was awarded to John Kurzweg and Kito Peters for their "Design Flaw" release and the Best Song award was picked up by Lisa Carman for her tune "The Language of Love"

The New Mexico Music Awards in cooperation with Full Battle Rattle Albuquerque and the Albuquerque Songwriters’ Cooperative held its first Songwriting Workshop for Veterans on April 19th, 2015.

The program paired veterans with NMMA award winning songwriters Hillary Smith, Kito Peters, Glenn & Richard Martin, Bambi Wolf, Anna Rudolph and members of the Albuquerque Songwriters’ Cooperative.

Our goal was to build on the work done by Full Battle Rattle Albuquerque which teaches combat disabled veterans to play music as a constructive outlet for Post-Traumatic Stress Disorder and Traumatic Brain Injury and to give veterans a more effective way to communicate their experiences in the theater of war.

Our next songwriting workshop for veterans will take place August 30, 2015 in Albuquerque. If you are a veteran and would like to participate, please register at Space is limited.

If you would like to have a Veteran's Songwriting Workshop in your community, reach out to us at or at 505-398-3577.
